In 2018, the Chilean Navy will celebrate its Bicentennial under the theme of "200 years navigating in the service of the nation" with an extensive program culminating in the 11th edition of EXPONAVAL.
Important moments for the Chilean Navy over these two centuries included the Valparaíso Naval Combat, the departure of the first national fleet, the foundation of the Academy of Young Midshipmen, base of the current Naval Academy, and also the creation of the national merchant marine.
This 11th edition is expecting 160 international exhibitors and more than 9,000 professional international visitors, including invitations to more than 70 delegations of navies around the world.
The “Base Aeronaval de Concón”, located in Torquemada, will host this exhibition for the third consecutive year.
This location has significant advantages thanks to its proximity to military installations of Chilean Navy as well as the civil infrastructure of the aerodrome, sharing a spacious runway and both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas.
The base is just a few minutes away from the centre of Viña del Mar and the port of Valparaíso, with direct access from Santiago and its airport via the International Route.
In connection with EXPONAVAL 2018, the 11th edition of the International Congress will be held that includes a comprehensive program of technical conferences related to review new challenges, new developed techniques and relevant advances in order to face global multifaceted changes of this naval and maritime sector.
